COMPLIANT MECHANISMS AND ROBOTICS GROUP

The BYU Compliant Mechanisms and Robotics Group (CMR) involves students and faculty who strive to make an impact by creating compliant mechanism theories and applications that are novel, used by others, and make a difference for good.

We share our work with:

  • The research community through technical papers, books, theses and dissertations, hosting visiting scholars, collaborations, and presentations
  • Industry and government through research contracts, technology transfer (including intellectual property agreements), presentations, visits, and creating spinoff companies
  • Society through maker resources, YouTube videos, books, visits to our lab, presentations, exhibitions, and providing impactful products

The CMR’s educational objective is to provide students with research opportunities of real consequence in a rewarding environment that increases their technical abilities, confidence, and desire and ability to be an influence for good.
